YOUR HOSTS are Dave and Annabelle.
A Kiwi bloke, an Aussie chick and a piece of paradise in the New England region of northern NSW.
Back in 2007 we purchased this parcel of prime cattle grazing country and have made it our home. We named the property Kai Iwi pronounced [ky] [ee-wee] after a small beach-side community on the western coast of the New Zealand north island where Dave spent many childhood summers.
Kai Iwi is from the a Maori language and literally translates
as FOOD and FAMILY.
Two principles that sum up the essence of our existence! We love growing, making and sharing good food. And we love our family and friends - all near, far, close and extended!

THE SPACE
STARLIGHT CABIN is a secluded self contained cabin - perfect for a relaxing getaway.
The cabin is situated on an operating cattle property with stunning views to the north overlooking Grahams Valley. It is situated in a peaceful rural setting with, clean, crisp mountain air. The elevation is approximately 1293 metres and in winter there are frosts and the occasional snowfall.
The cabin was built out of an old shed which was on the property when we purchased about 10 years ago. Prior to our modifications it was used to store farm equipment - it had a dirt floor and had gates hung on the front to keep the cattle out!
Once we had completed the cabin fit-out and refurbishment we lived here until we finally built our new home, and now Starlight Cabin is a space dedicated for guests.
There is plenty of space to bring your four legged friends, the property has a fenced yard around the cabin for dogs. And separate to the living area there is a large, pastured yard available with fresh running water for your horse(s).
And there is ample space available to park your trailer/truck/ caravan or camper too.
DINING
WE ARE PASSIONATE about growing and eating our own food as well as supporting local and regional producers and would love to share some of the gourmet delights of our region with you.
We offer a selection of food hamper options for breakfast, lunch or dinner featuring local and regional produce.
If you enjoy cooking then the full sized and well equipped kitchen with pantry staples included will not disappoint. But if cooking is not your thing, or you need a night off from cooking, a pre-cooked meal service is available as a dine in option or we can recommend local options for dining out.

Generous continental breakfast provisions are included in the room tariff and includes some of our favourites like homemade roasted muesli, homemade fruit compote made with local seasonal fruits, and local honey and homemade preserves. As well as a selection of specialty teas and freshly ground coffee for the espresso machine.
